I am conducting a simple informal survery about the utilization of robustness diagrams and robustness analysis by BA's. Academia World vs. Industry World

I am a firm believer in the value of a business analysts and requirements engineering. I am an new Assistant Professor and I have been conducting research in the field for over 6 years now and I can safely say that there is a HUGE gap between the academic and practitioner worlds with respect to business analysis and requirements engineering. It is very rare that anything produced in academia is put in use in industry. Similarly it is very rare to see practices used in industry being "accepted" in academia.

But does it have to be this way??

It certainly isn't that case in many fields, such as medicine, pharmacy and other types of engineering...etc. I am writing this blog entry to extend an invitation for collaboration. What can we (academics) do to help you with your profession and increase your value??
